We had an all-time high of 171 registrations and 101 attendees at any one time with 114 actual attendees. At least one group had members in a room showing the sessions.

We thought you might be interested in some statistics regarding the viewing of earlier VTC videos. From August 2012 to February 2013, we have had over 2,000 views of APCUG’s VTC videos on YouTube. People from the United States, Canada, India, the United Kingdom and Australia have watched the videos with 66% of the viewer’s being male and 34% female.

APCUG’s 2013 Winter Virtual Technology Conference (VTC) will be held on Saturday, February 2, from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time. The VTCs are gaining popularity with user group members and attendance is growing with each conference. The sessions are 50 minutes in length and offer attendees the opportunity to ask questions via a chat window. Our December totals were 70 items and 68 pounds of food. This makes the GRAND total for Oct-Nov-Dec 2012 of 160 items and 163 pounds of food! Because of your support, more families will have a good, nourishing meal this winter. I want to send a big THANK YOU to everyone who participated. It is truly appreciated! Happy New Year!

Below are the User to User Questions, if you have some input to give please be sure to put the Question Number in your response.

#1 If you have loaded Windos 7 64 bit can you reload windows 7 as 32 bit without loosing all installed software  ( short answer was no )

#2 I use AOL & every other time I log on at my work PC it says my mail is unavialable, I have to sign out and sign back on, My PC is wired and I use Microsoft security antivirus, What could be cuasing this ? It is also slow.

#3 I have a home network with Windows XP home as my desktop computer I use a RJ45 cable to connect to the router. I can connect to the internet with my Winodws 7 laptop , but I cannot do file sharing. or printing. I s there a setting that I'm Missing

#4 If I do a factory re-install fro Windows XP will I be albe to download SP1, SP2, SP3 from Microsoft ( yes, look for the network versions which will be 300 to 500 Megs down load those before you do the re-install and it will go much easier )

#5 I'm looking to upgrade my computer from XP to Winodws 8 a salesman told me that parallel port printing is not supported. ( I did find a non-Microsoft site that mention it does exist and is a service that runs )

 

November's totals were 54 items and 55 pounds of food. Add that to October's donation – and we're up to 90 items at 95 pounds! In December, we will pass my initial target of 100 items, but I would love to see us hit John Henderson's challenge of 200 items! I will be collecting our final donation at our December KIPCUG meeting on Dec 11th – (that's the 2nd Tuesday!) 

I will also be at Susan's Excel SIG (Monday, 12/3) & Mark's Internet SIG (Monday, 12/10) - if you want to bring items then. THANK YOU to all who donated!

Thanks to everyone who brought in canned goods for October. We had 36 items totaling 40 pounds of food. John Henderson challenged us to a new goal of 200 canned goods. We have our November and December meetings to meet that goal. We are very lucky to have good food on our tables, so let's spread that wealth!
